My Tax Dollars at Work
They finally repaved my street, for the first time in 28 years (so I'm told).
Brand-new, smooth as glass, black as my soul pavement...it just doesn't seem like home, now. I think I preferred the old scabby, patched-up, character-filled, pitted surface to this.
Change is hard, sometimes.

I miss the crack sealer.
You'll appreciate the smoothness when they put in a radar trailer for bike speed testing!
