52cm Raleigh International

Here is the International I got in the trhee-way trade last weekend. Unfortunately, it is one size small for me (52cm seat tube, 54 cm top tube), so I will probably clean it up, overhaul it, and sell it on.

It's a shame, because I've always wanted one of these.

Drive side portrait.

The Carlton-built Raleighs are my favorites.

Nice, fancy chrome lugs, and a Campy headset.

Srtonglight crank.

The full monty.

Campy hubs.

Nice brake fitting.

Headtube porn.

Non-drive side.

Wow, I bet yours is the same year as mine (74), same color, same lugs, same decals.

It's interesting to see it in the small size, the lugs look "crowded" to me.

Do you know if Campy wheels were original? Also the Stronglight crank - I have non-Campy wheels and a Campy drivetrain.

That could be a beautiful bike.

It should be all Nuevo Record Campy, with the exception of the brakes. Many are missing the Campy wheels, since the stock wheels take tubular tires. So, while mine has Campy hubs, the clincher rims are not original.

Did the Carlton Raleigh's still have proprietary threading like the Nottingham's?

No, they did not. That's one of the reasons I like them!

If you're selling the bike, I might be interested. Let me know. -Scott scottferreter@gmail.com
