Okay, I Know You're Probably Sick of This Bike...
Here it is with the rack and bags, along with the second set of wheels with studded snow tires.
I think I'll ride it to work for a couple of days (on the non-studded tires, since it's supposed to be 75 degrees, Monday and Tuesday) and make sure everything's where I want it. Once it snows, I'll be ready to go.
Now, I just need to sell a few bikes to pay for my addiction...

75 degrees Mon. and Tues!? I wish. We are supposed to get 18 inches of lake effect snow tonight and tomm. here in the snow belt of Ohio.I am a pretty hard core commuter, but it's hard to ride when the snow is higher than the center of your hubs.Time to build up that Surly Pugsley winter project that I should have started about 2 months ago.
Yeah, we're supposed to break the record for high temperature, tomorrow. Then, we fall back into sasonal (upper 40s/lower 50s) by the end of the week.
I've had a couple of morning rides where my pedals were postholing 18" deep snow. But, by the time I usually ride home in the afternoon, the cars had compacted the snow down into an icy layer that allowed me to roll just fine, as long as I could stay upright.
Six crashes on icy spots in a 9 mile ride home prompted the purchase of the studded tires.
Nice looking bike! I think the rigid fork was a great choice. I hope it works well for you.
Thanks for checking out my music. I didn't know you're a musician -- do you have some music online somewhere that I can check out?
Nothing online. I'm just a coffee shop/bar "open mic nite" kinda blues-rocker. Nothing special, and certainly not at a professional level. I write some original stuff, cover some old blues guys, just noodle around.
So far, I've never written a whole album based on the Periodic Chart!
Very cool. I think being a "professional" musician would take a lot of the fun out of it. I've actually been on a bit of a blues kick lately. It's definitely not a genre I know a hell of a lot about, but I enjoy a lot of blues music immensely.
