Thanks. The cigar box is the most fun instrument I've run across, in a long time. Taking things to the very basics, it's kind of the single-speed of the guitar world.
That sounds great! I don't know if it's the cigar box or the amplifier, or the combination, but the sound has a closed-in, old-time quality that works well with the slide. I like it!
My 5 year old daughter and I enjoyed watching you play, after she wanted to see more players with "slides" I for one want to try my hand a building a 3 string and learning to play it. Kind of hard as I don't play anything at all....
Very cool Jon! My husband just started an appreticeship with an amp builder in town. He's totally geeking out on this stuff! I think you two should meet - bikes, guitars and amps.

Okay, I'm amused. I know very little about music, and even less about building instruments out of cigar boxes. But that was fun.

Holy cow, that's awesome! I was picturing more of a lofi tone. It actually sounds good! But, yes, "boxed" in, as Big Oak says. It's a good sound.

Head over to Cigar Box Nation and check out the videos. There are a few thousand, most better than mine (and I have 5 on there, I believe).
