This is the only form of carbon fiber I find appropriate on the Ghetto Bike.
Woody grips from Rivendell. Kinda stupid, maybe, to put $40.00 bling-grips on a beater commute bike, but I just like the looks of them. They are a little slick under the gloves, but we'll see how they age.

carbon fiber? where?
Wood is a carbon based material. And also happens to be fibrous.
Think of it as carbon fiber unplugged.
Rock on!
You got it, B!
Beautiful. I think they're worth the $40. I'm looking forward to seeing how they age, and maybe once you've ridden with them a bit you can comment on comfort. Seems like they might be a little unforgiving, but you never know.
So far, they seem pretty comfy. They are anatomically shaped, so the ergonomics are pretty good. It took me a couple of tries to get the angle right, but i think they are going to work pretty well at commute/errand-running distances.
I might have to do a long ride with them and see how they work over three or four hours...
